Jó a szamár is / Antoinette dans les Cévennes

Event Announcement: “Háromezer számozott darab” - A Hungarian Film Screening
Join us for a special screening of “Háromezer számozott darab” at Bem Mozi in Budapest. The film is directed by Császi Ádám and stars Farkas Franciska and Horváth Kristóf. Please note that the film is in Hungarian with no subtitles.
“Háromezer számozott darab” tells the story of a theater director who creates a performance based on the lives of five young Roma individuals facing difficult circumstances. The play showcases the harsh realities of their lives, depicting their poverty. When the play is invited to a prestigious theater festival in Germany, the group members are forced to confront their past and challenge racist stereotypes.
The film takes the audience on a surreal journey, blurring the line between fiction, absurdity, and socio-graphic reality. Can we talk about race without racism? Is it inevitable for minorities and majorities to harbor mutual hatred?
The theatrical version of “Háromezer számozott darab,” titled “Cigány magyar,” received critical acclaim and success among audiences in Hungary, leading to an invitation to the renowned Deutsches Theater in Berlin. Director Császi Ádám adapted the play into a film, receiving the “Rebels with a Cause” award at the Tallinn Black Nights International Film Festival. Császi’s debut film, “Viharsarok,” was shown at the Berlinale, winning numerous awards and being screened in 14 countries. Kemény Zsófi is known as a writer, poet, screenwriter, and slammer. Just like her first poetry book, Kemény Zsófi is known for boldly turning her back on conventions and silently raising the bar higher. With her acerbic and sarcastic style, she openly and honestly addresses taboo topics such as depression, lack of self-confidence, and midlife crisis. She studied psychology at ELTE and graduated from the film dramaturgy program at SZFE. Since the beginning, she has been an integral part of the Hungarian slam poetry movement and has performed at hundreds of events. She has also participated in national slams, and some of her slam poetry videos on YouTube have garnered hundreds of thousands of views.
Mészáros Péter is a slammer and poet. For the past ten years, he has been regularly organizing and performing at slam poetry events, as well as mentoring young talents and leading creative writing workshops. He has organized several large-scale slam poetry events, including the National Slam Poetry Gathering in Szeged. He has also won multiple awards and was crowned the champion of the national slam poetry championship in 2017.
