An exhibition titled “Az Eltemetett Igazság” (The Buried Truth) will open on the international memorial day for the Roma Holocaust at Mátyás tér in Budapest. The Uccu Roma Informal Education Foundation and the Józsefváros Community for Nonprofit Ltd. cordially invite you and your friends to the commemorative exhibition.
The exhibition will be opened on August 2nd, Wednesday, at 3:30 PM by Judit Ignácz, the program director of the Uccu Foundation. András Pikó, the mayor of District VIII, will deliver a speech. The event will feature a musical performance by Helena Varga.
The exhibition will be open for 6 days from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM daily. The Uccu Foundation staff will be present at the venue every day, ready to engage with visitors and provide a deeper understanding of the history of the Porrajmos (Roma Holocaust) and the ongoing fight against racism, which is our shared responsibility.
The closing event will take place on August 7th, Monday, at 6:00 PM. Szilvia Szénási, the executive director of the Uccu Foundation, will deliver a speech. The Varga Helena Band will also be performing.

Join us for the Beginner Party on Monday, August 7, 2023, from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM UTC+02 at Clark Ádám tér in Budapest. This event is organized by Pepita, who aims to bring the spirit of the 1920s and 30s to life with swing dancing and live jazz music.
If you’ve ever wanted to experience the vibrant atmosphere of the jazz era, this is the perfect opportunity. Every week, Budapest’s best swing dancers come together to celebrate their love for Lindy hop, Balboa, Solo Jazz & Charleston, Shag, and Blues. The dance floor will be filled with energetic moves and contagious rhythms, accompanied by excellent jazz tunes.
The theme of this party revolves around slower tempos, making it ideal for beginners. Whether you’re new to Lindy Hop or have been dancing for a few weeks, this is a safe space where you can try out your moves and meet fellow dancers at different skill levels.
To attend the party, you will need to purchase a ticket for 2,300 HUF. Please note that payment can only be made with a credit card on the spot. Additionally, it’s important to bring your own drinks and snacks, as there won’t be any available for purchase on the terrace. Comfortable dancing shoes are a must, and although there is no dress code, it’s recommended to bring a spare shirt.

Cseh Tamás Emlékkoncert a Vodku Fiaival // József Attila Emlékhely
Join us for the Cseh Tamás Memorial Concert with the Vodku Fiai on Monday, August 7th at 7:00 PM at the József Attila Memorial Site in Budapest. The Vodku Fiai band will gather once again to play the beloved songs of Cseh Tamás, Bereményi Géza, and Másik János, which have resonated with multiple generations.
This concert by the Vodku Fiai has become a tradition in Ferencváros. We warmly invite everyone who wants to listen and sing along to the timeless songs such as “Budapest,” “Hatvanas évek,” “Keresztben jégeső,” “Életem utolsó gesztusa,” “Égboltsapkájú,” and many others that have gained new meaning over the decades.
