Hey everyone! The Egységes Diákfront - Budapest (EDF) is organizing a party called “Hepaj a Gólyában” and we would love for you to join us. This event also serves as a fundraiser for our upcoming projects and activities. We have big plans for September, including several demonstrations in Budapest and other cities, as well as various programs, and we need your support to finance them.
The party will kick off with two amazing live bands and will continue late into the night with renowned DJs providing great music for you to dance and have fun. Here is the lineup for the night:

37. Mesterségek Ünnepe
The 37th Mesterségek Ünnepe, which translates to “Festival of Crafts,” will be held from August 18 to August 20 at the Budai Vár in Polgárváros, Hungary. This event is the largest and most prestigious folk art festival in the Carpathian Basin. Organized by Mesterségek Ünnepe, it brings together artisans, craftsmen, and folk artists to showcase their skills and talents.
The festival will take place in the polgárvárosi rész, which includes Tóth Árpád sétány, Táncsics Mihály and Tárnok utca, Szentháromság tér and park, and Dísz tér. As part of the state celebration, admission to the event is free.
This year, the festival’s theme is “Befordultam a konyhára…” or “I turned to the kitchen…,” focusing on the traditional peasant cuisine and its utensils that are still relevant today. Visitors can expect to see around a thousand master craftsmen showcasing their skills, along with craft demonstrations and workshops.
One of the highlights of the festival is a fashion show presented by FolkTrend, where traditional clothing is reimagined with a modern twist. There will also be a variety of performances on multiple stages throughout the day, including children’s concerts, storytelling sessions, and dance workshops. Visitors can also participate in hands-on craft activities.
The main stage at Szentháromság tér will feature a lineup of performances throughout the festival. On August 18, there will be concerts by Farkas Zoltán Batyu and the Új Gereben band, followed by the Tükrös Együttes. The day will end with a concert by Lakatos Mónika and the Romengo band.
August 19 will feature a special performance by Paár Julcsi, known for her children’s songs, followed by collaborations between the ViGaD Zenekar and the Tanac Táncegyüttes. The day will also include concerts by the Tatros Együttes and Tímár Sára, among others.
On August 20, there will be an award ceremony presented by the NESZ (National Cultural and Arts Award) and a concert by the Kármentő Zenekar. The day will also include a bread blessing ceremony with Petrás Mária and a fashion show titled “folkTrend!” featuring modern interpretations of traditional costumes.
