38. Budapest Mineral Show
The 38th Budapest Mineral Show is set to take place at the Hungarian Railway Museum from August 25th to August 27th. This event is the largest mineral fair in the country, showcasing the treasures of the earth’s depths including minerals, rocks, fossils, and decorative objects and jewelry made from these materials. With over 200 exhibitors, there is something for everyone, whether you’re looking for inexpensive “pebbles” or valuable gemstones.
The Budapest Mineral Show offers more than just a shopping experience. It is also an opportunity for learning and entertainment. Many of the exhibitors sell specimens that they have collected themselves and are happy to share the adventurous stories of their findings. Local mineral museums will also bring and showcase their latest acquisitions. Under the guidance of Dr. Ferenc Hollósy, visitors can learn about the fluorescence of minerals - how they change color under certain light conditions. Attendees can also gather information about participating in mineral collecting tours in Hungary, as well as purchase the necessary tools and literature.
The event features various interactive games and activities, with the Kőkaszinó lucky wheel and gemstone panning being the highlights each year. Through these games, visitors can get closer to the world of nature’s treasures, minerals, and rocks. For those who have had their fill of minerals and other gems, the Park offers a chance to ride a small train, admire old locomotives and carriages, and enjoy a satisfying meal at the charming restaurant with specially prepared menus for the event.

Two years of KINK

XXV. Pesthidegkúti Művészeti Fesztivál
The XXV. Pesthidegkúti Művészeti Fesztivál, organized by Klebelsberg Kultúrkúria, is set to take place in Budapest on various dates. The festival will feature a diverse range of artistic performances and activities to entertain and engage visitors.
On August 23rd, Wednesday, at 19:30, there will be a Platon Karataev concert. The ticket prices are 4000 Ft for Category I and 2000 Ft for Category II.
On August 24th, Thursday, at 19:30, there will be a mayoral greeting and presentation of the Csodatükör civil award. This will be followed by a concert by Szent Efrém Férfikar, who will be showcasing their latest album. Admission to this event is free. At 21:00, there will be an energetic live music and dance-circus performance called “RAMAZURI” by the Duda Éva Társulat in collaboration with the National Dance Theatre. The ticket prices for the later two events are 4000 Ft for Category I and 2000 Ft for Category II. There is also a special anniversary discount where the first 50 visitors can purchase tickets at half price, for 2000 Ft.
On August 25th, Friday, starting at 16:30, there will be a street theater performance by Gólyalábas utcaszínház - Teátrum TrappTop. At 17:00, The Mojo band will be performing.
The festival continues on August 25th, Friday, at 18:00, with a puppet theater performance called “A halhatatlanság országa” by Fabók Mancsi Bábszínháza. At 19:30, there will be a performance by L’art pour l’art Légitársaság. The ticket price for this event is 4500 Ft.
On August 26th, Saturday, starting at 08:00, there will be a festival run called “Fürge Família Futóverseny.” At 10:00, there will be a brass circus performance by Méhes Csaba and the Brass in the Five ensemble, titled “Brass cirkusz - avagy Mese a Tubatigrisről és a Trombitaparipákról.” From 11:00 to 12:00, the Zirano Színház will present “A zöldszakállú király.” At 12:00, Bolba Éva and the JAZZterlánc will take the audience on a musical journey with “Varázserdő hangjai.” At 13:00, Kováts Marcell, Micsik Béla, and Bella Péter will perform a program titled “A Kárpát-medence népzenéje.” At 15:00, there will be a search and rescue dog show by Wolf Ildi and Zete. At 15:30, a physics show will entertain and educate the audience. At 16:30, the Vojtina Puppet Theatre will present “Vitéz László - Malombonyodalom.” At 17:30, there will be a family concert by Kaláka called “Játékban élni, mely valóra vált.” At 18:30, the Bab Társulat will entertain the audience with a giant marionette street theater performance. At 19:30, Orlai Produkció will present Amy Herzog’s play “Jaj, nagyi!” with ticket prices of 4000 Ft for Category I and 2000 Ft for Category II. The first 50 visitors can avail of the anniversary discount and purchase tickets at 2000 Ft. At 22:00, there will be a telescope observation of the stars above the main stage area, titled “Csillagok titkai.” At the same time, there will be the second edition of “Echo II,” an event that offers free admission.
On August 27th, Sunday, there will be a concert by Halász Judit at 10:30. At 11:30, the Márkus Színház will present “Laci királyfi.” At 15:00, there will be a falconry show called “Solymászbemutató.” At 15:30, an eco show will entertain and inform the audience.
