38. Budapest Mineral Show
The 38th Budapest Mineral Show will be held from August 25th to August 27th at the Hungarian Railway Museum (Magyar Vasúttörténeti Park) located at Tatai út 95 in Budapest. This is the largest mineral show in the country, featuring over 200 exhibitors showcasing treasures from deep within the Earth, including minerals, rocks, fossils, and decorative objects and jewelry made from them. Whether you’re looking for inexpensive pebbles or valuable gemstones, you’ll find something to suit your taste at this event.
The mineral show offers more than just an opportunity to buy. It also provides a chance to learn and be entertained. Many exhibitors sell specimens they have collected themselves and are happy to share the adventurous stories behind their discoveries. Museums with local mineral collections also bring and showcase their latest acquisitions. Under the guidance of Dr. Ferenc Hollósy, visitors can learn about the fluorescence of minerals, which is how certain minerals change color under specific lighting conditions. Attendees can also gather information about participating in mineral collecting trips, purchase necessary equipment, and find relevant literature.
The event features popular interactive games, with the “Stone Casino Lucky Wheel” and gold panning being the main attractions. Through these games, visitors can get closer to the third realm of nature, the world of minerals and rocks. In addition to exploring the wonders of minerals and other treasures, attendees can also enjoy a ride on a miniature train in the park, admire old locomotives and wagons, and dine at the charming restaurant that serves special menus for the event.

XXV. Pesthidegkúti Művészeti Fesztivál
The XXV. Pesthidegkúti Művészeti Fesztivál is a must-attend event for art lovers in Budapest. Organized by Klebelsberg Kultúrkúria, this festival promises a wide range of artistic performances and activities that will captivate attendees of all ages.

On Saturday, August 26, there will be a variety of exciting activities starting with the Fesztiválfutás - Fürge Família Futóverseny (Festival Run) at 8:00 am. At 10:00 am, Méhes Csaba and the Brass in the Five will present the Brass cirkusz (Brass Circus), a musical performance about the Tubatigris and Trombitaparipák.
Throughout the day, there will be performances by Zirano Színház, Bolba Éva és a JAZZterlánc, Kováts Marcell, Micsik Béla és Bella Péter, Wolf Ildi és Zete kutya, and a Fizika show. In the evening, the Vojtina Bábszínház will present “Vitéz László - Malombonyodalom” (Brave László - Mill Ballad) at 4:30 pm. Kaláka will then perform a special family concert titled “Játékban élni, mely valóra vált” (Living in a Game, Which Came True) at 5:30 pm. At 6:30 pm, the Bab Társulat will entertain with the Óriásbábos utcaszínház (Giant Puppet Street Theater).
Later in the evening, Orlai Produkció will present “Jaj, nagyi!” (Oh, Grandma!) by Amy Herzog at 7:30 pm. Tickets for this show are priced at 4000 Ft for Category I and 2000 Ft for Category II. Again, the first 50 visitors can get tickets at a special half-price rate of 2000 Ft.
