LokoPiknik és Kerti Vasutak Találkozója

The LokoPiknik és Kerti Vasutak Találkozója is back this year with a renewed program at the Hungarian Railway Museum in Budapest. The event will take place on September 23-24 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Located at Tatai út 95 in Budapest, the museum offers a unique experience for visitors of all ages.

The event will feature a variety of stage performances, including the LIBAVONAT ZENEKAR and the ÁKOM-BÁKOM BÁBCSOPORT. On Saturday, the ÁKOM-BÁKOM BÁBCSOPORT will present ‘Az aranyszóló pintyőke’, while on Sunday they will perform ‘Az aranyos tarajos kiskakas’. These shows promise to be entertaining and enjoyable for the whole family.

In addition to the stage performances, visitors can also enjoy viewing various model railways and layouts in the Orient Hall. The exhibition will include a 70-meter long model railway, as well as locomotives and rolling stock on display.

The Északerdő Zrt. will provide a small train simulator and a miniature garden railway track for visitors to try out and experience. This will be a great opportunity for train enthusiasts to have some hands-on fun.

For the younger visitors, the Kispöfögők will offer coloring activities, puzzles, games, and of course, storybooks. There will be plenty of things to keep them entertained and engaged throughout the event.

On Saturday, in collaboration with the Közlekedési Múzeum, there will be a program called ‘Dobd fel a bringád!’ (Upgrade Your Bike!), where families can learn interesting information about bicycle maintenance and operation. They can also create unique visibility stickers or bike decorations in a fun and interactive way.

Throughout the weekend, there will be guided tours of the Kandó exhibition, which will take place every two hours from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Bíró Norbert, a railway historian, will lead the tours and provide insights into the exhibition.

The event will also feature a Ninja racecourse, an interactive playground, and a Giant Pirate Ship, providing additional entertainment and excitement for children. Attendees can also enjoy face painting, glitter tattoos, and various arts and crafts activities.

Some of the interactive programs available on both days include riding on the garden railway, traveling on the M31 diesel locomotive, turning the turntable, riding on the Csajka railcar, and operating the handcar. These activities allow visitors to get involved and experience the world of trains in a unique way.

43. Fut a Csepel

Event Announcement: 43rd Fut a Csepel

We are excited to announce the upcoming 43rd Fut a Csepel event, organized by the Csepel Önkormányzata and the Csepel Öttusa és VíziSport Egyesület. This event is a great opportunity for participants of all ages to engage in physical activity and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Csepel.

One of the best aspects of this event is that registration is FREE. You can register for the event by visiting the website here. The event will take place at the coordinates 47.424603, 19.088618.

The event will kick off with the opening ceremony at 9:10 am, followed by the start of the races. The race schedule is as follows:

  • 09:30 am: 1900-meter race for primary school students
  • 10:30 am: 4000-meter race for participants of all ages
  • 11:30 am: 400-meter race for preschoolers

In addition to the races, there will be sports demonstrations by various sports clubs in Csepel from 8:50 am to 11:45 am. This is a great opportunity to witness the talent and skills of local athletes.

At 11:40 am, there will be a raffle draw for exciting prizes, followed by the announcement of the race results at 11:50 am. At 12:00 pm, there will be a walk called “Sétál a Csepel - A mellrák elleni küzdelemért!” (Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness) to support the fight against breast cancer.

  • On-site Registration: Limited on-site registration is available before the start of the race, but we recommend arriving at least 1 hour before the race to avoid any inconvenience.

11. Országos Slam Poetry Bajnokság - Előválogató

Hey, poetry lovers! Get ready for the 11th National Slam Poetry Championship - Preliminary Round! This exciting event organized by Slam Poetry Magyarország will take place on September 22-24, 2023, at BARhole Music in Budapest.

Over the course of three days, you will witness the creative brilliance of 15+3 contestants who will advance to the finals. Whether you’re a seasoned poet or just a fan of powerful spoken word performances, this event is not to be missed.

To participate in the competition, simply fill out the registration form on Google Forms, which will be available from August 28, 2023, at 00:00. The deadline for registration is September 17, 2023, at 20:00. So, if you have a way with words and want to showcase your talent, make sure to sign up before the deadline!

Tickets will be available for purchase at the venue. Registration fee for contestants is 1500 HUF, daily tickets are available for 1500 HUF, and a three-day pass can be purchased for 4000 HUF. Come and support your favorite poets or immerse yourself in the world of slam poetry for all three days.

The event will be hosted by Baranyai Barna, Pion István, Mészáros Péter, and other talented individuals. The jury, led by Basch Péter, will consist of renowned poets and performers like Kemény Zsófi, Sára Gergely, Horváth Benji, Bánóczi Bea, Maier Péter, and more.

Each day will feature a different group of contestants, with a total of 24-25 participants competing in each block starting from 19:00. The groups will be determined through a random draw. Note that only original pieces are allowed, and performances should not exceed 3 minutes with an additional 15 seconds of grace period. Props or musical accompaniment are not permitted, but the use of paper or a phone for reading is allowed.

The performances will be evaluated by a panel of four judges, along with one audience member. Unlike previous years, the results will not be based on a point system. From each block, 5 contestants will advance to the finals - 4 based on the judges’ professional opinion and 1 based on the highest number of audience votes. In addition, at the end of the preliminary round, the jury president will select 3 additional slam poets to join the finalists.
