Q Contemporary is pleased to announce the opening of the exhibition “Fehér László: Megragadott emlékezet” (Capturing Memory) by renowned Hungarian artist László Fehér. The exhibition will showcase a selection of his latest works and will be held at Q Contemporary’s location on Andrássy Avenue in Budapest.
László Fehér is widely regarded as one of Hungary’s most prominent contemporary painters. His art has been shaped by figurative, photo-based paintings since the 1970s. His works explore the intersection of individual and collective memory, addressing the dilemmas of the present. Fehér’s paintings often transform seemingly mundane and everyday events into powerful metaphors with universal and metaphysical dimensions.
The opening of the exhibition will take place on September 28, 2023, at 6:00 PM. The event will feature an opening speech by Éva Forgács, an art historian and university professor. The exhibition is curated by Mónika Zsikla.

Join us for the Japán Gin & Sushi kóstoló Workshop on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 6:00 PM UTC+02. This event, organized by GinTasting.hu, promises to take you on a journey through the secrets of Japanese gin and sushi tasting.
The workshop will showcase five different Japanese gins, which will be tasted both neat and with tonic. To enhance the flavors, we will also serve sushi, whose oceanic aromas perfectly complement the spiciness of the gins. And to end the evening on a sweet note, we have a special dessert surprise prepared for you!
During the workshop, we will explore various aspects of gin and tonic, including the importance of glassware and ice selection. You will learn how to pair different Japanese gins with tonic water to create the most delicious results. In fact, you will even have the opportunity to make your own gin and tonic using three different gins.
No Japanese gin tasting would be complete without authentic Japanese food, and that’s why we will be serving sushi alongside the gin sampling. Don’t worry if you’re not familiar with chopsticks – we’ll be there to help!
In addition to exploring the world of Japanese gin, we will also delve into the secrets of selecting the best gin spices and learn a bit about the history of gin through interactive tastings.

Are you ready for a night of excitement and fun? Get ready for Gólyahajó// Freshmen’s Boat 2023! On Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 8:00 PM UTC+02, head down to Batthyány tér in Budapest. This event is organized by IÖCS, and it promises to be an unforgettable night.
If you’ve been missing the IÖCS, the DJs, your favorite instructors, and partying until sunrise, then this event is perfect for you. The theme for the night is the 50s America, inspired by the iconic movie Grease. So, bring out your hair gels, leather jackets, red lipsticks, and skirts, and get ready to step into the colorful world of Grease.

Are you an 7th or 8th grade student who is starting to think about high school? Or are you a parent wanting to explore the different high school options available for your child? Look no further! The Középiskolák 32. börzéje (High School Fair) is the perfect event for you.
From September 26th to September 28th, the Újpesti Kulturális Központ Nonprofit Kft. is hosting the 32nd edition of the Középiskolák börzéje in Budapest. The event will take place at Újpesti Kulturális Központ – Ifjúsági Ház, located at István út 17-19.
The fair aims to provide students, parents, and anyone interested in the educational opportunities offered by different high schools with a platform to gather information, ask questions, and make informed decisions about their future. The fair will feature presentations by various schools, where they will showcase their programs, curriculum, extracurricular activities, and any other relevant information.
The presentations will be held on all three days of the fair, with multiple sessions running simultaneously at 4 PM, 5 PM, and 6 PM at the Ifjúsági Ház. This means that you will have the opportunity to attend multiple presentations of different schools and get a comprehensive understanding of what each school has to offer.
Please note that registration is required for school groups attending the fair. If you are a teacher or a school representative, make sure to register your class by September 12th. Join us for an evening of exploration and discussion as we delve into the history of human sexuality in the performance theater piece titled “TÁP // A szexualitás története.” Led by the talented team from TÁP Tilos az Á Performansz Színház, this thought-provoking performance will take place on Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 9:00 PM to 10:30 PM UTC+02 at Jurányi Street 1-3 in Budapest.
In this performance, the machine vibrates everywhere - wherever you look, wherever you hide, wherever you reach. It lingers in your workplace, whips in the offices and bureaucrats’ shredders. It clenches its fist while tied to the bed. It lurks in the empty spaces between the gears of the market giant factory, in deserted malls, under children’s beds, in soldiers’ trousers. Its wires run through your body, buzzing and whispering in your flesh, labeling you as fat, lascivious, perverted, hysterical! At other times, it caresses you in the classroom, in the basement, on the night beach, and on the backseat of your car.
The machine permeates the body. It hums, moans, speaks. It writes on the skin. It tells the story of sexuality.
The performance features a talented cast including Szabó Veronika, Sárközi-Nagy Ilona, Lestyán Attila, Martinkovics Máté, and Medveczky Balázs. The script is written by Lénárd Róbert-Selmeczi Bea, with dramaturgy by Selmeczi Bea. The music is composed by Zságer-Varga Ákos, costumes designed by Jákóhalmi Zsófia, and set design by Boros Anna Eszter. The production is led by produkciós vezetőDézsi Fruzsina with the assistance of Csonka Laura, and directed by Lénárd Róbert.
