Állatvédelmi Témahét és Állatszeretet Ünnep
Join us in celebrating World Animal Day at the Állatvédelmi Témahét és Állatszeretet Ünnep (Animal Protection Theme Week and Animal Love Celebration), organized by the Fővárosi Állat- és Növénykert (Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden). The event will take place from October 6th to 8th at the zoo’s location at 47.518403, 19.077594.
This three-day event is part of the Animal Protection Theme Week, which will be held from October 2nd to 8th in 2023. Balogh Máté szerzői estje – Fehér Renátó és a Pax et Bonum Kamarakórus közreműködésével
Join us for an evening of music and conversation with Balogh Máté, one of Hungary’s most talented and internationally acclaimed young composers. As part of the Zene Háza Szerzők? Jelen! concert series, led by Kiss Boldizsár, the Pax et Bonum Chamber Choir will perform some of Balogh Máté’s vocal works, and poet Fehér Renátó will engage in a discussion with the composer about each piece.
Balogh Máté is an adjunct professor at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest, as well as a music theory teacher at the International Kodály Institute. He has also been a guest lecturer at the Alabama University, Shanghai Conservatory, Leipzig Mendelssohn Academy, and the Conservatorio di Giuseppe Tartini in Trieste. His compositions have been performed at prestigious festivals in Hungary and internationally. In the 2021-22 season, he served as the resident composer for the Győr Philharmonic Orchestra.
The Pax et Bonum Chamber Choir was formed in 2008 by teachers and students of the Evangelical Cantor Training in Fót. Their repertoire ranges from Renaissance vocal polyphony to contemporary works, with a special focus on Protestant church music. They have also premiered several works by young Hungarian composers. The choir has been led by Kiss Boldizsár since September 2020.

Attention theater enthusiasts! Get ready to immerse yourself in the world of Anton Chekhov’s classic play, “Csehov: Szakadékban” (Chekhov: In the Abyss).
In the small village of Uklejevo, a family drama unfolds. In a place whose name means “gray, small, insignificant fish,” it’s no surprise that something interesting is about to happen. The Cibukin family’s fate takes a turn for the worse, and they finally feel alive. But as they say, when you feel alive, things don’t always end well. Or maybe it’s just a sign that even God is awakening from winter’s slumber.
The talented cast includes Forgács Péter, Enyedi Éva, Erős Mara, Kárpáti Barnabás, Varga-Járó Sára, and Krasznai Vilmos. They will be accompanied by musicians Mohácsy Lőrinc Ágoston on the double bass and Horváth Áron on the cimbalom. The set design is by Domahidy Veronka, and the music is composed by Mohácsy Lőrinc Ágoston.
