Celebrate World Animal Day together at the Állatvédelmi Témahét és Állatszeretet Ünnep! This three-day event, organized by Fővárosi Állat- és Növénykert, will take place from October 6th to 8th. The event is part of the Állatvédelmi Témahét, which will be held from October 2nd to 8th, 2023. The main theme of the week is responsible pet ownership and animal protection.
During the weekdays from October 2nd to 6th, there will be special zoo education and creative workshops for preschool and school groups. The Állatszeretet Ünnep (Animal Love Festival) will conclude the Állatvédelmi Témahét. At the festival, the general public will have the opportunity to meet animals from the Wildlife Rescue Center, and the zoo education team will have various interactive games to raise awareness. The creative team will also organize activities focused on the theme of World Animal Day and environmental conservation.
The event will have several cooperative partners, including the Herman Ottó Institute, Vadonleső Program, Pangea Cultural and Nature Conservation Association, MME, WWF, Sárosi Méhészet, and the Hungarian Environmental Education Association.
A detailed program will be available soon. The programs can be attended with a general zoo ticket, annual pass, or a 4-season pass. Educational groups can visit the programs with institutional tickets on weekends, and the extra zoo education and creative workshops will be free of charge during this week for the announced themes.

Nobody knows who he is, but his reputation precedes him. His parties are legendary and anything can happen. While few receive official invitations, the whole city shows up to his extravagant events filled with dancing. What could Gatsby’s secret be? Join us for this luxurious carnival evening and discover it for yourself. You won’t want to miss it!
The ball will feature hundreds of dancers, double workshops, surprises, and more. If you missed our previous event, now is your chance to step into the glamorous Art-Deco style of the 1920s. We encourage you to dress up in Gatsby-inspired attire and be part of this truly lavish evening.
The event will take place at a prestigious venue that is easily accessible by public transportation and offers convenient parking. The party will go on until 3 am, giving you plenty of time to dance the night away. The main hall will feature a spacious 350 sqm dance floor with high-quality sound and lighting, playing a mix of Cuban Salsa, Populáris Salsa, Timba, Bachata, and more. In addition, there will be a dedicated Kizomba room with a cozy atmosphere and the best selection of Kizomba and Urban Kiz music.
Throughout the evening, there will be various entertainment including taxi dancers, salsa ruedas, a special choreography performance, and talented photographers capturing your best Gatsby-inspired dance poses. You can also enjoy discounted cocktails, a well-organized buffet, and a cloakroom service.
The planned program includes workshops in both rooms from 9-10 pm, followed by non-stop dancing with a variety of music styles until the early hours of the morning. We have made improvements based on feedback to make this party even better than before.

This time, we will have Hungarian folk musicians playing for us, and at the Élő Tisza stand, we will begin pressing the must (the quantity is limited, but we will repeat the process in the next 3-4 weeks!). And now, the children can also participate in the pressing, as we do every autumn. We will also have a fairytale performance in the grassy area. And of course, there will be lángos and pincepörkölt!
