Állatvédelmi Témahét és Állatszeretet Ünnep
Join us in celebrating World Animal Day at the Állatvédelmi Témahét és Állatszeretet Ünnep (Animal Protection Theme Week and Animal Love Celebration) organized by Fővárosi Állat- és Növénykert (Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden). This year, the three-day event will take place from October 6th to October 8th, as part of the Animal Protection Theme Week, which is held from October 2nd to October 8th, 2023.
The main theme of the theme week is responsible pet ownership and animal welfare. In line with this, there will be extra zoo educational and craft activities for preschool and school groups from October 2nd to October 6th. Educational institutions can apply for zoo educational activities by emailing zooped@zoobudapest.com, and for craft activities by filling out the form at the following link: [form link].
The week will culminate in the Animal Love Celebration, where the general public can meet the animals of the Wildlife Rescue Center, and our zoopedagogical team will prepare various educational games. Our craft team will also organize programs centered around World Animal Day and consider environmental conservation.
The event is in collaboration with several partners, including the Herman Ottó Institute, Vadonleső Program, Pangea Cultural and Nature Conservation Association, MME, WWF, Sárosi Méhészet, and Hungarian Environmental Education Association.
A detailed program will be available soon. The activities can be attended with a general zoo ticket, annual pass, or seasonal pass. For educational groups, the activities can also be visited with institutional tickets on the weekends. The extra zoo educational and craft activities in the announced themes are free of charge this week.

The event promises to be a grand affair, with hundreds of dancers, double workshops, and surprises awaiting you. Capture the essence of the 1920s and dress up in the glamorous Art Deco style of Gatsby’s era. Come adorned in your most dazzling attire and be a part of this truly extravagant evening.
The venue, Láng-2 Terem, offers easy accessibility via public transportation. You can reach it conveniently using the metro or the frequent night buses. With its 350 square meters of space, the exclusive Salsa-Bachata ballroom is equipped with top-quality sound and lighting systems, creating the perfect ambience for your dance pleasure. In addition, there is a separate room dedicated to Kizomba, where you can enjoy the best selection of Kizomba and Urban Kiz tunes.
Throughout the night, you can expect a range of activities and entertainment. There will be sparkling taxi dancers, guided Salsa-Rueda in the main hall, and a SunDanceParty choreography with extra animations at midnight and 2 AM. Talented photographers will be on hand to capture your best Gatsby-inspired dance poses.

The program for the night includes workshops in both ballrooms from 21:00 to 22:00. After that, from 22:00 onward, the main hall and the Kizomba room will come alive with the most danceable, energetic, emotional, and captivating music from a variety of styles.
The event organizers have taken into account feedback from previous parties and have made improvements to ensure an even more incredible experience this time. From visual enhancements to a turbocharged buffet and coat check service, everything has been fine-tuned for your enjoyment.
The entrance fee for the event is 3,000 HUF, which includes access to one of the workshops, coat check service, and surprises for Gatsby’s birthday ball. Please note that payment can only be made in cash.

THYLACINE, support: OIEE // A38 Hajó
Get ready for an electrifying night of music as THYLACINE, supported by OIEE, takes the stage at A38 Hajó on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 11:55 PM UTC+02.
THYLACINE, the scientific name for the Tasmanian wolf, is a species that became extinct 70 years ago. This precious word has been chosen by William Rezé to embody his progressive electronica. With a thirst for freedom ingrained in his DNA, THYLACINE is always searching for new musical horizons. Each track is unique, influenced by a wide range of artists, from pioneers like Steve Reich and Philip Glass to John Zorn’s jazz experimentation and Massive Attack’s trip-hop. THYLACINE’s music merges the rhythmic and melancholic techno of Paul Kalkbrenner with the ethereal melodies of Moderat and Four Tet. But THYLACINE’s musical pursuits go beyond traditional boundaries, pushing limits and exploring new sonic landscapes.
The stage is another realm that THYLACINE loves to explore. During his live performances, he wants to feel as free as he does in the studio. A fearless and improvisational performer, he incorporates his alto saxophone into the mix, breaking free from the constraints of machines. With captivating visuals and immersive scenography, THYLACINE blurs the lines between the dancefloor and fantasy, taking us on a wild and intimate journey with a mysterious destination.
Supporting THYLACINE for the night is OIEE, a musician who blends electronic music with tropical house, nudisco, disco, trance, and R&B influences, creating melodic tunes that make you want to dance. OIEE’s second album was released in April and features collaborations with Grammy-winning producer Steve Dub (The Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy), SENA, Aluphobia, WaTa, Badfocus (CZ), and Zahár Fanni. With a monthly listenership of 20-25,000 on Spotify, OIEE’s music has gained popularity. Several of his songs, including “Still Dey Inside” and “Marathon,” have premiered on BBC 1Xtra, and his music videos for “Stays Like This” and “Kawhi” (featuring Amaarae and M3nsa) have won awards at the Hungarian Klipszemle.
OIEE has previously performed in Prague, Brno, Nitra, Groningen, at the Mumush Festival in Transylvania, and regularly in Transylvania. This year, he performed at the United Islands of Prague festival, as well as other festivals in Transylvania, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. In September, he embarked on a week-long tour in Romania. OIEE has also been invited to perform at Eurosonic, Europe’s largest showcase festival, in January 2023.
