Autumn Swing Challenge 2023 - WSDC event
The Autumn Swing Challenge 2023 is here and it’s going to be an exciting event for West Coast Swing enthusiasts. This year’s pros include Olivier Massart & Virginie Massart, Semion Ovsiannikov & Maria Elizarova, Browly Adjavon & Inga Kurciša, and Byron Brunerie & Melodie Paletta. The MC for the event will be Piotr “Badman” Lenart, and the DJ lineup will be announced soon.
The event will take place from November 10th to November 12th, 2023. There will also be a preparty on Thursday, November 9th. The concept and spirit of the event will remain the same as previous years, with leveled workshops, specialized classes, competitions for fun and WSDC points, and, most importantly, lots of social dancing and partying.
The Autumn Swing Challenge will be held at The Aquincum Hotel Budapest ****, a beautiful hotel and spa. You can find more information about the hotel on their website.
Registration for the event will start on July 3rd, 2023, at 6 pm CEST (Budapest time). There are two types of passes available: Party Passes and Workshop Passes. With a Party Pass, you can attend the parties and competitions, while with a Workshop Pass, you can also participate in leveled workshops (7 workshops per level).
The prices for the passes are as follows:
- “Quick bird” (first 100 registrations): 95 EUR for Party Pass / 140 EUR for Workshop Pass
- “Normal bird” (next 140 registrations): 105 EUR for Party Pass / 150 EUR for Workshop Pass
- “Late bird” (after September 15th): 115 EUR for Party Pass / 160 EUR for Workshop Pass
- “@TheDoor” (after November 4th, if not sold out): 125 EUR for Party Pass / 170 EUR for Workshop Pass
In addition to the workshops, the Autumn Swing Challenge also offers extra thematic workshops each year. Details about this year’s additional workshops will be announced soon.
It’s important to note that there is a maximum capacity of 280 registrations for the event, and tickets tend to sell out quickly. So be sure to register early to secure your spot!

Are you ready for some beach volleyball? The Budapest Association for International Sports (BAIS) is hosting a fun-filled event of covered beach volleyball. The best part? You don’t have to worry about the weather, as the courts are covered!

One great thing about this event is that there’s no registration required. All you have to do is indicate that you are “GOING” on the event page. If you happen to have a volleyball, please bring it along. But don’t worry, if you don’t have one, the organizers will provide the necessary equipment.

Be welcome to enJOY vol.2 / Encore!, a holistic dance event organized by AGORA. This weekend of embodied joy aims to bring together individuals who are in a process of not knowing, unlearning, and cleansing. Amidst the adversities of our lives, let’s take a moment to celebrate the purity of deep connection and explore what we need on a daily basis to maintain a high level of consciousness.
The event is organized by a group of dancers who have a passion for co-creating workshops. They have been attending a teachers’ training for Holistic Dance by Sabine Parzer for two years. As a peer group, they have not only experimented with workshop formats amongst themselves but have also opened up spaces for others, blending their diverse backgrounds and personalities.
In February 2023, they held a weekend of workshops in Budapest called “enJOY” and it was a great success. Now, with new friends and experiences on board, they are back with enJOY vol.2. Encore!
The event will feature a series of workshops taking place over the weekend.
On Saturday morning from 10:00-13:00, participants will have the opportunity to meet with joyful curiosity about being in a new environment. They will explore different ways to resonate with alignment to greatness and delve into what it means to give consent, share, and receive touch on a physical and emotional level. This workshop will draw from Contact Improvisation, bodywork, and deep listening.
In the afternoon, from 14:00-17:00, participants will embark on a journey through their senses. They will interact with different materials and objects, using touch, smell, taste, view, and listening to connect with themselves in a playful and creative way. The workshop will explore and expand the moving patterns known to the body and encourage participants to try something totally new. Creative expression through painting, drawing, writing, performing, and playing is welcome.
On Sunday morning from 10:00-13:00, participants will come together to create a safe and empathic space within themselves and the group. They will explore fun and expressive ways to feel, move, and interact with individuals or the group as a whole. The workshop will flow between (contact) dancing and the role of the sympathetic observer, creating a performative space.

Join us for a weekend celebration of football and socializing with a friendly mixed-gender 5-a-side football game. All levels are welcome, as this game is all about having fun, making new friends, and enjoying the beautiful game of football. Forget about scouting for FC Barcelona, this is about the love of the sport.
The game will take place on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at 4:00 AM - 5:00 AM UTC+01. The location is the Margitszigeti Atlétikai Centrum, an artificial grass football pitch in Budapest. The meeting point can be found at 47.517221, 19.043603.
To participate, make sure to bring comfortable clothes to play in and a bottle of water to keep yourself hydrated. The cost per player is between 1000 and 2000 HUF, payable in cash, Revolut, or Wise. Please note that the BAIS team members are only collecting money to cover the field costs, and the association as a legal entity is not involved in this transaction.
It’s important to RSVP by selecting “Going” if you’re attending the event. In order to maintain a balance between male and female players on the field, we kindly ask everyone to make an effort to play respectfully and ensure everyone feels safe. Kiaikido Seminar held by Davide Rizzi Shihan
Join us for the Kiaikido Seminar led by Davide Rizzi Shihan, organized by Ki-Aikido Hungary. The seminar will take place on November 11th and 12th, with various practice sessions and exams.
On Saturday, November 11th, the seminar will start at 9:00 AM and will include practicing for all participants and exams, with a break in between. After the morning session, there will be a lunch break at a restaurant near the dojo. The seminar will continue in the afternoon from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM for all participants and from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM for instructors. In the evening, there will be a dinner at a restaurant near the dojo.
On Sunday, November 12th, the seminar will start at 9:00 AM and will again include practicing for all participants and exams, with a break in between. In the afternoon, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, there will be a session specifically for instructors.
If you are interested in joining the group for meals at the restaurants, please let us know in advance. Sleeping arrangements can be made at the Katsuhayabi Kidojo.
