Welcome to the opening event of Koleszár Kata’s individual exhibition titled “Kimentem a kertbe, hogy kiterjesszem a lelkem” on March 27th, 2024, Wednesday at 6:00 PM. Kata graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in 2014 with a focus on painting. Her attention shifted towards the themes of gardens and vegetation, exploring topics such as the symbolism of plants from a feminist ecological perspective.
Kata’s fascination with plants initially revolved around their symbolism. Through her research, she delved into the hidden interpretations of plants mentioned in the Bible, as well as the symbolism of Persian gardens, expanding her exploration within a broad historical context. Her interest also extended to orchards and medicinal herbs, linking these themes to the concept of femininity and ancient associations with nurturing and healing traditionally assigned to women.
The exhibition curated by Krisztina Üveges will be open for viewing from March 28th to April 26th, 2024. By participating in the event, visitors acknowledge that photographs or videos may be taken of them during the event. This exhibition offers a unique perspective on the intertwining themes of nature, femininity, and contemporary issues like climate change and sustainability, inviting viewers to reflect on the profound connections between women, nature, and environmental concerns.

The lyrics, drawn from 13th-century poems, invite the listener to reflect on their own faith and the meaning of Christ’s sacrifice, providing a rare opportunity for contemplation and spiritual connection.
