The Kempinski Promenade Gallery in Budapest is the current hotspot for art enthusiasts, featuring the intriguing solo exhibition “Discovery” by the talented painter Zsuzsa Szvath. In her “DISCOVERY” series, Zsuzsa Szvath delves deep into the realm of metaphorical imagery to convey human emotions, fears, and hopes through her extraordinary paintings. Her works are a reflection of hidden meanings, as she intertwines connections, truth, and human values in surreal and thought-provoking ways.
Zsuzsa Szvath, a notable Hungarian artist, was born in Pécs in 1972. Her artistic journey led her to study at the Hungarian University of Applied Arts (MOME) from 1993 to 1998, followed by a year of studies at the Universität der Künste (UdK) in Berlin. With a significant milestone being her solo exhibition “A Period of Change” at the Rosenhang Museum in Germany in September 2023, Zsuzsa Szvath has garnered attention for her unique artistic perspective.
One of the highlights from her previous exhibition, “JULIA RISES TO THE CLOUDS,” was inspired by the Hungarian band Napoleon Boulevard’s hit song “Júlia Does Not Want to Walk on the Ground.” This mesmerizing piece, along with others from the “A Period of Change” series, is now part of the Budapest exhibition for art enthusiasts to explore and interpret.
Cristina Streckfuß, a renowned curator and communication expert, highlighted Zsuzsa Szvath’s artistic prowess, stating, “Szvath Zsuzsa achieves a unique creative position with her impressive, metaphorical worlds and peculiarly surreal scenes.” The artist’s exploration of lost values, ancient trust, and emotions through her artistry captivates viewers, inviting them into a world where serenity and restlessness coexist in perfect harmony.
