This exciting event will not only take you to the peak of the Tokaj mountain but also lead you to the largest medieval cellar in the world-renowned wine region. Tokaj, nestled in the Northeastern part of Hungary, is famous for its unique white dessert wine that has earned it a spot on the world heritage list.

Starting with a hike to a mountain quarry lake and a viewpoint over the village, the adventure continues with a climb to the summit of the Tokaj hill, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Great Hungarian Plain. Descend into the town of Tokaj and relax at the charming sandy river beach where you can enjoy lunch and partake in watersports.

Before heading back to Budapest, explore the historic sites of downtown Tokaj and visit a well-known wine cellar to taste and purchase the famous Tokaj wine. The hike covers a distance of 13 km with a 420-meter ascend and descend, lasting approximately 5 hours. While the hike is suitable for all, don’t forget to bring along your hat, sunglasses, sun cream, and a water bottle as shaded areas are limited.

The schedule for the day includes meeting at Keleti railway station in Budapest at 7:10 AM, arriving at Tarcal railway station at 10:30 AM, hiking, beach time at “Tutajos” at 3:00 PM, visiting a medieval wine cellar in Tokaj at 6:00 PM, and taking the train back to Budapest at 7:50 PM, arriving at 10:50 PM.

Tickets are priced at 8500 HUF for students and 9500 HUF for adults. The participation fee covers travel and beach entrance, excluding lunch or wine purchases in Tokaj. So, pack your bags, invite your friends, and get ready for a day of adventure in Tokaj!
